Millimeter-Wave Circuit Techniques and CMOS Integrated Systems for 5G Wireless

  主讲人:吴亮 副教授(香港中文大学)

  时 间:2019年1月4日(周五)10:30

  地 点:清水河校区科研楼C区216

  内容简介:

The explosively growing demands for high-date-rate wireless communication and ubiquitous connectivity to support content-rich services and Internet-of-Everything (IoE) continue to drive the evolution of mobile network technology to the fifth generation (5G). Currently, it is increasingly becoming clear that millimeter-wave (mmW) will be a key enabler for 5G owing to the unprecedented wide bandwidth available. However, the significant signal-propagation loss and the high operating frequency at mmW impose major technical challenges on RF transceiver systems, which in turn would require extensive fundamental researches and technology innovations for circuitries, antennas and systems.

  主讲人简介:

Dr. Liang Wu is an Assistant Professor in the School of Science and Engineering (SSE), Chinese University of Hong Kong, Shenzhen. His research interests include radio-frequency, millimeter-wave and terahertz CMOS integrated circuits and optical-and-wireless convergence systems for 5G and Internet-of-Everything applications.

Dr. Wu received his B.S. and M.S. degrees from Fudan University in 2004 and 2007, respectively, and his Ph.D. degree in Electronic and Computer Engineering from the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST) in 2012. Dr. Wu has published papers on top-tier IEEE journals including Journal of Solid-State Circuits (JSSC), Transactions on Circuits and Systems I (TCAS-I) and Journal of Light-wave Technologies (JLT), and on IEEE conferences including International Solid-State Circuits Conference (ISSCC). In addition, He has filed 2 PCT and 3 US patents. He co-founded Jetcomm Technologies to commercialize his intellectual properties on VLC and obtained funding support from the Hong Kong Innovation Technology Commission. From 2016 to 2018, he was with the State Key Laboratory of Millimeter Waves, City University of Hong Kong, as a Senior Research Fellow, where he successfully developed a 310-GHz CMOS radiator system chip.
