  内容简介:

  In this talk, I will present the main results obtained in our research related to High Power Microwaves (HPM) and interaction of HPM pulses with neutral gas and plasma. Namely, I will talk shortly about HF electron modulations in the diode with ferroelectric cathode, generation of electron beam space-charge self-oscillations by over injecting a vacuum diode, limitation in the duration of HPM generation in the double gap vircator, recent advantages in research of S-band relativistic magnetron, HPM compressor, and interaction of a 0.6 ns duration, 0.5 - 1 GW HPM pulses, generated by BWO operating in super-radiant mode, with neutral gas and plasma.

  Yakov E. Krasik received his MSc. (1976) in physics from the Tomsk Polytechnical Institute, Russia and Ph.D. (1980) in physics from the Joint Institute for Nuclear Research, Dubna, Russia. From 1980to 1991, he was with the Nuclear Research Institute, Tomsk and from 1991 to 1996 with the Weizmann Institute of Science, Rehovot, Israel. Since 1997, he has been with the Physics Department, Technion, Haifa, Israel, where he is currently a Professor and Head of the Plasma and Pulsed Power Laboratory. He has supervised 23 PhD students and 26 MSc students, published around 285 papers in leading referred physical journals including around 14 review papers, two chapters in text books and he has 24 patents related to pulsed power. His H-index is 33 and citations number is 4200. He is a Fellow of A merican Physical Society, Senior Member of IEEE, member of the board of the Israeli Plasma Society and Technion Senate board. He served as a Chaiman of Israeli Plasma Society for several years, has several awards from Russian govemment and Technion. His main research interests are connected to pulsed current-carrying plasmas (high-current electron and ion diodes, plasma opening switches, different types of plasma cathodes for high-current relativistic electron beam generation,nanosecond times scale electrical discharges in pressurized gases, underwater electrical wire and wire array electrical explosion and generation of strong shock waves, high power microwave generation and microwave compressors) and plasma diagnostics (different electrical probes, optical imaging, X-ray and spectroscopy).Different applications of plasma are also in the scope of his interests.
