  六、讲座内容简介

  Near-infrared and mid-infrared semiconductor broadband light emitters have emerged as ideal and vital light sources for a range of biomedical sensing/imaging applications, especially for optical coherence tomography (OCT) systems. Although near-infrared broadband light emitters have found increasingly wide utilization in OCT imaging applications, the requirement to simultaneously achieve both a high spectral bandwidth and output power is still challenging for such devices. Due to the relatively weak amplified spontaneous emission, as a consequence of the very short non-radiative carrier lifetime of the inter-subband transitions in quantum cascade structures, it is even more challenging to obtain desirable mid-infrared broadband light emitters.

  Recently, by optimizing the epitaxy growth of materials and the fabrication process of the devices, we have obtained high performance near infrared quantum dot light sources with a spectral width of more than 300 nm, the first mid-infrared quantum cascade broad-spectrum light sources and light source arrays working continuously at room temperature. This research lays the foundation of materials and devices for improving the performance of near infrared OCT system and realizing mid-infrared OCT imaging system.

  七、主讲人简介

  张子旸,博士、中科院苏州纳米所研究员、博士生导师。博士毕业于中科院半导体所,毕业后先后在日本东京工业大学、加拿大阿尔伯塔大学和英国国家三五族半导体中心工作,主要从事半导体材料和发光器件的研究工作,期间曾获“Japan Science and Technology”研究员称号、荣获了加拿大阿尔伯塔杰出研究基金--“Alberta Ingenuity Fellowship”。回国后入选了江苏省创新创业人才、苏州园区海外高层次领军人才、苏州园区科技领军人才、江苏省六大人才高峰计划、江苏省333高层次人才等。主要从事半导体材料和光电子器件、器件集成方面的研究工作。在“Advances in Optics and Photonics”,“Scientific Reports”,APL,OL,OE, IEEE PTL等杂志上发表文章多篇。
